Episode 27: How to Have Hard Conversations with Kids

In this powerful episode, Crystal Woodman Miller describes her experience as a survivor of the Columbine school shooting when she was 16 years old. Crystal was in the library at the time of the shooting — the room where most of the violence occurred. She explains how she relied on God that day and the desperate prayers she prayed with her friends. She truly believes that prayer should be our first defense!

In the years that followed, the grief was suffocating, but Jesus kept her anchored. Today, Crystal categorizes herself as a “recovering fear addict” which is a daily reminder of how desperately she needs God.

Crystal is now a mother, a speaker, an author, and an advocate for having difficult conversations with our kids. She believes that our job as parents is that we can frame these conversations so that our kids feel safe and that we can speak through the lens of Scripture and provide hope.

Ready to be inspired by someone who has gone through immense tragedy and learn ways to approach difficult topics with your kids? Let’s go…
